about

I used a dope sample from this group named Oedipus for this track. I have always been a fan of Redcloud and have rocked several shows with him. I thought he would fit well on this track, so I asked him to drop a verse for me. He set the tone for the track with his lyrics referencing different rock bands, so I continued that tone and threw in a bunch of metaphors referencing rock bands, albums, and song names. I thought it would be dope to have Spoken Nerd on the same track as Redcloud and he came in and killed it with the 3rd verse.

The concept behind this song is that when rock music was born, it was such a huge phenomenal movement that it encompassed the entire world's youth. As rock music evolved, much of the music was used for evil and promoted things that were contrary to what Christ taught us. In my opinion, the exact same thing has happened with hip hop. When hip hop hit the mainstream, it became a global movement. But unfortunately today, we see how it is often used to promote values and teachings that lead us away from God and towards spiritual death. A bullet is rarely fired, and few get physically hurt, but the teachings in much of today's music leads us to destruction... peacefully. Hence the name of the track "Peaceful Destruction."
